Let’s talk about a 5-day Taiwan Trip (Part 5 – CKS/T101)

After two days of touring (and lots of walking), I booked the next two remaining full-days on my stay to be just chill, do some DIY touring, buy stuff and do things. I deliberately planned these days loosely. By loosely, I mean I just listed things to do in a bullet list.

When I was planning this trip back in May, I was gauging what I should do with what I could do. There’s a popular idiom – the mind may be willing but the body is not – and I knew that I don’t want to stretch my body to the point of exhaustion in the name of “touring”. I planned to go to Taiwan to at least have some days to relax. Exhaustion was not something I wanted to get.

Fortunately, I had a previous trip to Thailand to gauge what was my extent of “consecutive” tours. I did Bangkok and Ayutthaya consecutively, out of necessity. I only had 3 full days to abuse. But I had to admit later, the two consecutive tours was very fulfilling but was pushing the envelope for me in terms of running me ragged. That may have contributed to me just doing Chatuchak for the last day. I had no energy left for anything else.

So with the Thailand reference, I booked two tours consecutively. I did days of deliberation whether I should split it and have a chill day in between, but I was hamstrung with the vacation days I booked for Taiwan. June 13 was a Thursday and 14 was a Friday. I had a desire to split my trips, but that would mean one of them will be a weekend, and I weighed it on a scale. Based on some friends’ recommendations, I was mighty hesitant on booking a weekend tour. Potentially a lot more people. Also, I’m a “get this done sooner” type of guy. So June 13 and 14, all tours, 15 and 16 is just barely-planned chill DIY days.

So with all that… back to the night of June 14. June 13 and 14 tours were done. Nice tours, but also tiring tours. Feet and legs were aching a bit. But two more days beckoned. Have to do prep that night.
