This was imported from my old
BlogDrive blog posts.
I’m currently designing a new blog layout. I’ll try to upload it by Monday.
I hope I can resume my blogging life by the upcoming weeks. Since being on the thesis maelstrom and the jobhunting trail, I had less time for myself.
Top 5 picks for the week:
1. Baby Romantica – by Script
2. Still Doll – by Kanon Wakeshima
3. King of Kings – by Môtorhead
4. Finale – by L’Arc~en~Ciel
5. Datenshi Blue – by Aucifer
I’m headed towards my second month of work as an outsourced worker. The pay’s less than average: roughly more or less 15,000 PhP and for the past month I did nothing but test cases and debugging.
But I feel like 3 years is just okay for me. Well, I am under contract for 3 years and I don’t want to be a plain office worker who burns ass-sized holes in office chairs.
I’m thinking of spicing up my resume for the duration of 3 years: attending computer/IT seminars, freelancing as a programmer, doing major projects with my employer, and hopefully I can land a much better position somewhere else. This telecom company is a very good company; I mean, I’m paid less here but the prestige of working with the country’s premier telecom giant is a huge spice to my resume.
It’s all about experience. I don’t want to take shortcuts to success.
Currently, I’m hooked on these anime titles:
Wagaya no Oinari-sama
Blassreiter
Vampire Knight
Da Capo 2nd Season
to-LOVE-ru
Naruto Shippuuden
Kamen no Maid-guy
Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
Otoboku
Persona
Nabari no Ou
Naisho no Tsubomi
Crystal Blaze
Monochrome Factor
Junjou Romantica <— yep, you read that right
xxxHOLiC Kei
Itazura na Kiss
Mnemosyne
Special A
Kurenai
Code Geass II
Soul Eater
Kanokon
I download them via BitTorrent, and I watch them on my PSP in between work breaktimes and in the two-hour lulls of travelling to and from work.
I’m also riveted on the current Boston Celtics-LA Lakers matchup in the NBA 2008 Finals. And as far as I’m betting on some team, my money’s on Boston.
Boston has managed to have a great offseason, acquiring Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett by trading away their youthful players. They gained unmatched veteran expertise from it. And including Paul Pierce, they created a legit NBA miracle turnaround.
Kobe’s the been-there-done-that player of the Lakers. He’s the unanimous and deserving MVP in my opinion. But you have 3 guys with the same purpose, same goal and the same scoring and defensive prowess, and also without NBA rings in their hands, I think it will be hard for the Lakers to push Boston aside.
Suddenly, basketball in the NBA is basketball again. After 21 years, gentlemen, we have a ball game.
The Welcoat Dragons in the PBA needs serious retooling, in my opinion.
I think if Welcoat finishes dead last again, I think the franchise bosses will create a huge makeover with the team.
I’m a big Ginebra fan, but I don’t like seeing another team in the PBA look like asses waiting to be whooped.
I’m predicting one or more of these players will make their way into the Welcoat roster this season or the next Philippine Cup season:
Eric Menk
Chris Calaguio
Ken Bono
Yousif Aljamal
Migs Noble
Eddie Laure
John Ferriols
Rodney Santos
Ronjay Enrile
Danny Ildefonso
Brandon Cablay
Mark Andaya
Christian Coronel
WWE should feature its Divas more on the wrestling side and less fanservice. I think WWE discarded the Chyna-esque womens’ image back in 2002 and started making their female wrestlers more like walking eyecandies. And then Trish and Lita left; the last of the true wrestling women of WWE. Where else can you see a woman do a moonsault? Or a hurricanrana?
WWE needs some serious Diva repackaging. Really.
I also would like to express condolences to the family of Rudy Fernandez, one of the last remaining true actors in the Philippine showbiz industry. He died early this morning.
Obama wins the Democrats’ rat race for candidacy.
I think the upcoming US elections would be a lopsided victory for Obama akin to how Bush handily defeated Al Gore years ago.
Actually, I think that if Hillary would win, it would be a fair contest between Senator McCain and Ex-FirstLady Hillary Clinton.
Now Senator McCain would have to soak up gallons of charisma to match up against Obama.
Gail-neechan recently went to HK for a Laruku concert. And to think of it, I haven’t been to any concerts (even locally) since I attended a Rivermaya event/concert when Rico Blanco was still in.
I had been in some concerts in the past, namely one of the Eraseheads’ last concerts with Ely in it.
Probably by August I’ll be in for another one.
So… I’ll be back on Monday. Ciao!
