Time Is Right, I’m Gonna Get You Playin’ High

This was imported from my old
BlogDrive blog posts.

Now I’m gonna stop my usual 32-35 mp3 player contents since now I’ve got a one-gig mp4 player that now has 567 mp3s, and it’s a b***h if I place it all here 😛 But I’ll replace it with my top 5 for the week.

Top 5: [ June 15-June 21 ]
1. Rendezvous – by BUCK-TICK
2. The WORLD – by Nightmare
3. Sculpture – by Dollis Marry
4. Dress – by Abingdon Boys School
5. Nervous Breakdown – by Abingdon Boys School

News flash: Vince McMahon is presumed dead by WWE.com.
But wikipedia says it’s kayfabe. Anyone?

Hah. The internship phase was a blast. I don’t mean it in a positive way, though.

I didn’t blog for the WHOLE month of May. See? It was HARD. I even dream about the projects. T_T

Even on Sundays and Mondays. I couldn’t blog due to exhaustion. I work from 7 AM to 7 PM. Leftover hours would be for dinner, night baths, and sleep. I wake up at 4 AM.

But I kinda managed it.

I had my internship at a certain insurance company at Makati. But I couldn’t divulge my work details, or I will infringe the contract and they could lawfully sue my ass over three or four printed words.

I definitely didn’t like being cooped up. I mean, the project was good, but I was held back. I also definitely dislike corporate red tape. Having IIS on my workstation took the hell a lot.

OK then, before I get flamed up, music.

1. Moi Dix Mois
Just recently I acquired a copy of Moi Dix Mois’ “Dixanadu”. It was released at a time I’m so engrossed in a major life-and-death project situation at school, so I didn’t bother to download it back then. But now, since I have some loads of time to spare, I can just sit back and listen.

As usual, weird title. Of course the only familiar crass on the title is “Xanadu” (also a track on the album), but putting it with the “dix” probably makes it sound cooler. The same with “Dix infernal”.

I haven’t listened to it all (a song every two days), but so far I liked “Lilac of Damnation”, “Xanadu” and “Last Temptation”. Especially the last one. It has these weird ethereal sound parts at the start, then some vocals, but it definitely complements. But strangely, Mana really is a good composer, but his fashion sense is somewhat off the usual. He loves these mysterious blue-and-white motifs. Try the cover. It’s creepy, but who says creepy isn’t cool? Try some Dir en Grey videos.

Like the usual Moi dix Mois, creepy but ingenious. And good.

2. Matenrou Opera

Wow. Dunno about these guys, but I think they’re at least… good enough.

Members (from L-R)
Drums: Yuu (ex. Jeniva)
Keyboards: Karen
Vocals: Sono (ex. Jeniva)
Guitars: Mika
Bass: You

So basically, it’s like a Jeniva band, except there’s only two of them now. I don’t even remember Jeniva. Though my first thought strayed to Jenova, the creepy wonder from FFVII.

Their first single, [alkaloid showcase], was released last June 4, but I had it by June 12. Liked Yuu’s excessive use of eyeliner. Almost the same effect if I cooped up in my room for 54 hours straight watching anime. Wait… was that like Mana’s?

I’ll put it on my revamped music download page (i’m revamping it NOW) next week, June 22. My birthday.

Really good.

3. Dollis Marry

So here’s one indies band I wouldn’t miss. Aside from being a bit streotypical with the wild shocks of red and auburn brown hair styles, I liked their singles.

But the best one, hands down (so far) is “splendore”. It’s a weird title. Splendor. with an e.

But I’m not done yet with Dolls Core.

“splendore” Tracklist:
1. sculpture
2. Trinity
3. Hikari no Yukue

I’ll also host this one by June 22. I plan on making a BIG. I mean BIG. Hosting next week. About 5 singles, 10 mp3s, and 1 album.

Hehe. It could even get bigger. And the last,…

4. BUCK-TICK
Wow. These old guys still know how to rock.

“RENDEZVOUS” single Tracks:
1. RENDEZVOUS
2. My Eyes & Your Eyes

It’s on my infinite loop player and my infinite favorites. It is kinda reminiscent of their boppy single “Just One More Kiss” back in the early 90s. This new single of them is their twentieth anniversary single. 20th anniversary. Wow. Even most jrock bands don’t last THAT long.

Sakurai-san’s voice is still as mellow and mystifying as usual. More of those whispers and love notes, like *aishiteru* and *watashi wo…* repeating on some cases, but the best part is the parts where the *be my baby, bebop my baby, she’s my baby love* comes in. XD

Lively, lovey-dovey, and really something from them. Talent has no age limit. That’s it.

Right now, I’m kinda at a bottled-up phase.

I’ve had countless thoughts I could have penned up anytime during my internship period, but I chose not to.

But I saved some on my cellphone, and here’s some of them.
