In a special episode of “I’ve-got-no-professor-for-two-hours-and-I’m-goofing-off-at-school” blogging marathon of yours truly… *coughs*
OK, so to keep it short, I have some time to spare to have a blog. And again, it’s mail cleaning time.
*logs in at YahooMail*
And as usual, it’s full of spam. I mean, can’t they create Yahoo with a spam filter? Damn. It would take me some minutes to unclog this sink.
Well, reguarly, I would say that the groups updates and the usual album update submissions are the ones taking as much space as the spam ones.
And an additional update from my mp3 rotation page… I have decided to move to ESNips.com. I’m kinda sad that 4shared is slowing down. Like, I mean that the bandwidth connecting to them is going down, and even the download rate’s getting busted once too often. And one factor too: it kinda stuck to the WinXP grayness. Too geeky layout.
Music… well, Blek-whatever length-bek returned probably last year for another year-round hosting service again. Welcome back.
If you want his org link, I wouldn’t give it here. Try going to AZNMp3.
Music… again. Well, downloading’s a heck of a b—h. I mean, Japan’s a great music market. Better than WWE selling wrestling merchandise and TNA selling Kurt Angle t-shirts. Better than the combined music market of Philippines and Indonesia. And probably the best of them all after America (nothing beats US on buying and selling music CDs).
It usually entails a lot of updates to keep the artist fresh and hot off the press. Like for example, an artist in Japan may release about two to five singles (a CD per single, sometimes with a DVD) then they release an album. The singles contain some tracks that is not included in the album, and the album can also contain songs not seen on the single CDs. It’s a great marketing concept for lots of music fans in Japan. Last time I checked with my Japanese friend Tomo (who’s now currently AWOL on his blog which have also died), he featured a pic of a typical Japanese music store. It’s like a museum. Rows upon rows, upon rows, upon rows… of CDs, ranging from these OVA music CDs to singles to anime vocal soundtracks to movie music shots to tribute albums to… well, it’s a diverse world in Japan, much like its doujin and manga market.
The thing is with downloading music from Japan is that it’s like a deluge. If you have looked already at most jpop-dedicated forums, you can see the intervals and ovserve how often artists release their works. And how many good artists are in Japan. So if you’re a downloading reckless guy like me, it’s a perpetual look-preview-and-download thing for me. Even buying. Well, buying’s the least of my worries. I usually buy the albums. I only buy singles (take Miyavi’s Kimi ni Negai Wo) if and only if they are freakin’ good. The albums take up most of my cash aside from Quiapo anime DVDs.
I keep downloading every week. Typically 1or 3 singles and an album occasionally. And my mp3 list grows friggin’ longer and my hard drive’s cursing me now. I have 80 gigs and only three gigs left. 67 gigs on music, videos, scanlations, and games. I plan to buy another hard drive this summer during my internship.
The Japanese music market is the best in Asia… but WTH for downloaders. It’s a freakin’ tsunami deluge.
Ciao!
