Currently, as I am griping about so far, I have to blow it off.
*blows some steam* FRIGGIN’ JEEPNEYS!!!
For foreigners, jeepneys are an obscure remnant of the WWII, since crafty Filipinos converted a four-seater owner-type jeep into a money-making 20-seater limousine-meets-westcoast type of vehicle we now call jeepney. I call it a kotatsu on wheels.
Since the normal day heat in RP is so high, I wouldn’t care less to ride a jeepney from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. But since Option A (Air-con Bus) sometimes turns into a jam and Option B (FX Taxis) is quite pricey by local standards, I sometimes sigh to myself and give myself some shame on riding a short trip on a jeepney.
Today I rode one. And it’s not again a very very pleasant experience.
I rode a jeepney from Quiapo (I buyed some quality anime and movie DVDs) because of economical traps. Quiapo-to-UST in bus is 8, in FX is 10, and jeeps are 6 (talking about pesos). So I rode one, hoping it would only take 5 minutes to ride from that distance, considering I’m late for my CS104 class for 30 seconds and counting.
Big mistake.
It took 20 minutes for a 2-and a half kilometre of travel! Bulls**t. The stupid driver keep stopping at choice PUJ passenger stops at 5-minute intervals just to hawk passengers. And I was really damn near to getting off and running like hell from Morayta to UST’s RR Building.
I was late 20 minutes at class, which could have merited me a lab grade of 0. But since the clock at the lab is delayed by three minutes, *hah* I was able to net 95 just now.
That is the last time I’m gonna ride a short-trip on a jeepney. And that jeepney I rode earlier… go to hell.
If I’m not mistaken, it’s been 12 days since I last updated my mp3 page, and 14 days since I last posted in here.
Quite bad. And now that my preliminary exam is coming soon, more delays. Hah. The life of a junior thirdyear UST Computer Science student.
*ticks off projects* I have the Shortest-Job-First Preemptive Algorithms, Priority Scheduling, Report on ADA, Paging Memory-Management Schemes, and the presentation for ADA. Not to mention I’m currently at pains finding an ADA compiler that really works.
I really want to have DSL at home. But since Mom isn’t paying for something she calls a “vice”, I’m thinking about funding myself my own DSL connection. My sister broke my mom’s trust too many times, and as a result, probably when I get that DSL connection, my sister would secretly connect herself to the hub and chat at midnight, which could result to mom junking mine out of the window. So I have to find out how I can avoid that. Like in programming, error suppression. A program must be totally free of errors from logical to syntax. So with that, I’m gonna be in it.
But so far things are OK for me at school. Not much of the scray grades. I just have to balance everything.
Before that, I’m gonna buy myself a new 80GB hard drive.
Since last year, I relied mostly on rotation sites and XSiteClub’s BlekBlekBek…whatever’s posts. Now I found OngakuSuki and Jpop.bww2 put up forums with tons of discographies, not mentioning downloading huge amounts of scanlated manga, my 40GB drive now has about 2.01 GB of space left.
But now I also have a long line of mp3s I haven’t listened to. Like WaT’s Hava Rava single.
While I’m converting all my mp3s to 128KBPS, I might as well save up for that one.
