8 days to go, and I’m still on a quandary… whether what I would do on that day.
Should I skip school? Blog all day? Shopping spree? Undecided yet. But for sure, I won’t tell anybody that it’s my birthday or make my wallet bleed.

You know, here in the Philippines, it’s usually the birthday celebrant that spends the cash, instead of the well-wishers treating him to a party or whatever. It’s like a reversal of the Western tradition. But heck, I don’t want my cash go down the drain that way.

But if I have to be forced, I could opt for two styles of spending: Dutch Treat, and “warikan“. The Dutch Treat stipulates that everybody pays for what they eat. The Japanese “warikan” states that everybody pays for the same amount regardless of how little or how much they ate. Kinda devilish schemes, ain’t it?

I’d rather spend the day with my closest friends from high school. I know they’re the ones who treated me on their birthdays, so I have something to pay back. At least we treat each other the way we want to be treated ourselves, and that’s what friends are really for.

I’m kinda enjoying reading the “Fruits Basket” manga. Hehe. Probably one time I’ll make my mp3 page a FB themed one.

Hum hum. I’m now in third year, and, frankly, I’m a little anxious right now. Even if the classes haven’t started yet.

The On-the-Job-Training (OJT) thingie, is what makes me have second thoughts. First, where? It isn’t easy to find one, unless you have the so-called Chinese “guanxi“, you are the son of a filthy-rich politician, you have a relative that works in an IT company, and you are a Dean’s Lister. I don’t have all of those. Meiyou. At least I could try being at least in the same league as those who get 2.0 and above. I can manage it if I push hard enough, I could get a grade that the companies would find suitable enough for hiring. Now my goal is not get even a 3.0 in my scores. But, I have to find one and reserve one place for me. So, when the OJT time comes, I won’t have to plead and squeeze myself in one company or another because I’m already in. I also have to be assigned to their IT departments. Frankly, I would like being in their Website department. Aside from I like webpages, I could leech some Net time there. (*-*)

Tick-tock, tick-tock. better find a suitable one soon within the next nine months or I’m fried.

My sister is now a freshman at UST. The same university as mine. But, luckily, she landed a scholarship grant by Mercury Drug Corp. that allows her to enroll in UST’s College of Pharmacy for free. Now that’s what I call free, with strings. Sis have to be working for MDC for 3 years, compulsory.

Also, the allowance is not theirs to dole out. So, still, mom has another problem with the cash intake of my voracious sister.

Let’s see where she would tread.

Where did I stop? Ah. OK. But I think I would stop at 50. Too much for a hundred, hehe.

37. The largest crowd that I ever had a public speech was in my fourth year high school JS Promenade Ball, where I delivered our batch’s class prophecy before a whole contingent of third year and fourth year HS’ers, along with faculty and the head of our school. I was nervous as HELL. Dammit, and my brain, as I remember, was cut in half. One half was to make sure I don’t screw up any words, and the other was making sure of minute details like my quivering, lip shaking, and thinking that my mom put up too much fluff on my face. I didn’t screw the words, but it took long enough. Five minutes sure felt like five hours.

38. Me and Israel played yo-yo on the promenade ball because we didn’t have anybody on our minds to dance with. We’re the shyest boys in our group. The yo-yo was the type with bearings inside, and we competed to play tricks with it.

39. The best rock group ever, for me, is Linkin Park.

40. The only newspaper I respect for its content and news delivery is the Philippine STAR. Other than this newspaper, I view the other newspapers “below standard”.

41. My favorite concoction would be a softdrink cocktail. A glass of Sprite, Royal, Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Cheers, Pop Cola, RC, rootbeer, Mirinda, Virgin, and other softdrinks in a coleman. It tastes kinda weird, but refreshing in summer. Hehe.

42. I am simplistic when it comes to religion. My religion is Roman Catholicism. I don’t dress as extravagantly as others when our family goes to church. Heck, you can even spot me from my family just by looking. Another case is that I never entertained other “versions” of Catholicism / Christianity. I just believe that we are born good, we should be good and do good, and believe in Christ and God. Other than that, I just ignore.

43. I wear at least size 36 pant size in the house. Even my denims/jeans are. But, I’m somewhat skinny, and one tailor measured me to wear only size 32. I like pants with ample room size.

44. I seldom smile in my photos. Probably I smiled only five times, one when I had this so-cute girl next to me in a wedding, another at my HS graduation where I received my honors, third with my friends, fourth at a barkada pic, and the last is when I smiled at a family-kin gathering last year where I played a prank so funny earlier I smiled so wide at the picture.

45. I never read serious books, like “The Purpose-Driven Life”. I rather like fiction books (with a point or two raised up), true-to-life accounts, and some interests that come my way. Manga, well, it’s a different case. hehe.

46. I only played Ragnarok at HS to Firstyear college for about 9 months. Then I quit. I soon found out that it ruined my sleep, alienates me from friends, slashes my savings in half, and dipping my grades in mud. /gg Bad trip. My name then was Hyrox05, a level 72 priest.
