Yay yay yay! My mp3 page is now operational somewhat. I have it on my Tripod account, but the ads! Aargh.

I fixed my Freewebs account hours later, so now I’m left with two alternate sites that you can access. One, http://jmason2006.tripod.com and the other, the usual link I have on my page.

Last Sunday, we had this program with our CWTS programme. A medical mission. Nothing about it, ne?

But it really is one hell of a day, with my back still aching from some sort of muscular pain. So it;s painful to stand and walk for me. Like shots of pain keeps coming up when I move. But, it’s a very crucial requirement, so even if it’s killing me softly, I will still go.

None of my groupmates noticed my little handicap. So that’s it. A good plan going well. I carried some boxes of medicine that the pharmacy groupmates had come up this past week, and set the medical mission up at the same GK location in Brgy. Pasong Tamo.

My job there, specifically, is a bouncer. It’s not like what you see in those musty nightclubs or the macho ones like WWE’s Batista, but my job description is that. We have to maintain discipline. We have to line up people properly. Secondly, we just kept bouncing from one place to another, with nothing to kill time with except my mp3 player, so the description is.

We worked from 8 to 12. That’s about 4 hours of pain.

The medical mission worked like a charm. Dr. Maranan was the doctor-in-charge (our very kind professor back in first-year psychology), the pharamcy students go sort out the doctor’s paper orders and medicine sorting, and we… well, you could say we entertained the poor folks who came for the medicine,

And a thought came up my head: how the hell do these pharmaceutical companies come up with these screwy names? Like Triclosan, Viagra, Muscolax, Dimetapp, and that sort of medical jargon? So you’re left with an alien-sounding name that gives you little or no clues how it works, except you swallow it and wait for results. Co-bloggers, please help me with this if you know anything about this.

At least the folks there at the medical mission helped us with regards to our stomachs at noontime. Tina, the leader of the pharma group, gave us these delicious Jollibee Chicken Strips that we feasted on. Yum, that is. But, as Filipino food companies do typically, it was just a small amount of rice and 4 to 5 strips of chicken meat, just the size of my afternoon snack. Too small for lunch, I thought, but what the heck, I can’t show ingratitude or else I’m done. So I ate it.

My groupmates amused Tina that much. They gave her these stories about how good it is to be engineering students, and with endless tales of professors and such other jokes, like why males should not put their hands in their pockets while reciting (“Leave your balls alone!”) and endless  laughs ensued. I was beside our group leader David, silent wile eating, but occasionally sharing in a few laughs.

We went home by about 1. But my problems just has been half-solved. I still have one more place to go. I went straight to SM North. I had a rendezvous with my mom and my homie Jemar at Cyberzone for a screwy laptop.

One of the reasons why I lost my appetite at dinner last Feb 8 was my relatives at Santiago, Isabela told me that the laptop we bought for them had this error of some sort, like “Operating System Not Found” and hanging WinXP. OK, that does it, I said. Get that thing here. But, with the sort of problem, I lost my will to eat for 6 hours.

On that Sunday, we gave it back to CnO at Cyberzone to try and fix it. I saw that they tried everything, from replacing the HD, or manipulating the BIOS, but all failed, except for the insides, which they have no authority to get in. So, after a bloody hour, they told us they are going to replace the laptop with a new one.

But tragedy struck.

They saw a scratch at the laptop cover. It was a small scratch, but it was enough to invalidate their previous statement. Look, they said, we’re not going to replace damaged goods. So, we’ll give it back to the supplier, Intel, and they will decide what to fix or replace with your laptop. For the week, meanwhile, wait for our call.

So that’s it. My homie Jemar went back to Baguio pissed off, while me, I’m tired after 12 hours of s**t, and there’s nothing more to do.

I fear about failing for the first time of my life at my subjects. My grades look bad, especially Calculus and Accounting II, so I have to work my butt off and try to make it unscathed to the next level.

But a strong gut feeling tells me otherwise. Prepare for hell.

Now, links. Time to put up some good views.

Oops… So that’s it. Ciao!!
